What brought you to CFB? I wanted to increase strength and endurance to supplement my Jiu Jitsu. And it has increased strength and endurance way more than I anticipated it would!
How long have you been a member at CFB? 2 years in August
What is your athletic background? I have always been involved in Athletics. Soccer, Track. Basketball, Softball from elementary school through high school. After that, it was city league sports and martial arts. It is a very big part of me.
How has CFB changed your life, lifestyle and level of fitness? Like I mentioned above, CFB has helped me to keep up with the younger people and bigger people in Jiu Jitsu. It complements the sport tremendously. I also feel healthier now than I was in my 20s. And I have met a lot of awesome people I now called friends.
What is one thing you have done through CFB that you never thought you could do? Lift a lot of Weights JI had never done that before Crossfit and never thought I would.
What motivates/inspires you? I think what motivates me most are the relationships and the support of everyone. There are so many different levels; but everyone is a cheerleader. They’re there for each other as well as themselves. It’s an awesome atmosphere.
Name one goal you would like to achieve? I will conquer Deadlifts one day.
Any advice for new members or people thinking about starting CrossFit? I’ve had people tell me that they just couldn’t possibly do crossfit because it is so intense. I like to tell people there are no worries. You start at your level; don’t worry about trying to keep up with everybody else. It’s about what YOU can do and eventually, the obstacles you can overcome.
