What brought you to CFB?
Well, I actually got a new job out at Roberts & Petty and Michelle Ragsdale introduced me to CFB, I asked her what it was all about and she brought me to a partner WOD on a Friday and I was hooked. I almost died but I was hooked! J
How long have you been a member at CFB? May 5, 2018 will be ONE year! (that went by fast!)
What is your athletic background? In my junior high and high school days, I was in athletics but the only sports I played were Soccer and Basketball, but from 2009 to my first day of CFB I never did anything physical, as far as exercise…
How has CFB changed your life, lifestyle and level of fitness? I could talk about this all day. CFB has changed my life in more ways than I can imagine. When I started CFB I was just coming from a job I HATED, I was always unhappy and depressed so I went to food, I was badly overweight. I cannot remember life without CrossFit, it’s a part of my life now, it’s not a choice or something I make myself do, I consider it a privilege to be able to go every day and participate with the awesome people we have at our gym. Since joining in May of 2017 I have lost almost 40lbs. Overall I just feel better.
What is one thing you have done through CFB that you never thought you could do?
The first time I saw someone climb the rope, I thought WOW, I want to do that. Took me a while, but I finally did it!
What motivates/inspires you? Definitely the coaches of CFB, they are all awesome! They are all different and I like that, because I have learned something different from each one of them, and I really look up to them all, and they inspire me to do better everyday.
Name one goal you would like to achieve? PULL-UPS.
Any advice for new members or people thinking about starting CrossFit? The only thing I can say is if I can do it YOU can do it, and here’s why…. I am one of the most shy people you will ever meet, and it took me a lot of courage to go to CFB my first day, and I remember thinking…you can’t come back here you can’t, it’s too hard. You will fail yourself. I couldn’t even run half a 200m run, or even jump rope! But I chose to take a leap out of my comfort zone and dive into something that would change my life for the BETTER. I promise you won’t regret it!
