CFB Athlete of the Month - February, 2016

Name:  Michelle Ragsdale

Age:  54

Occupation:  Secretary

Which class do you usually attend?  Noon

Favorite WOD:  Cindy or any bodyweight WOD

Favorite Lift:  Power Clean

What brought you to CFB?  The founders of CFB rented their first warehouse from me. I had never heard of it before so I decided to try and fell in love with it and been there ever since.

How long have you been a member at CFB?  5 years

What is your athletic background?  Dancing (tap, ballet, acrobatics), Tennis, working out with free weights.

How has CFB changed your life, lifestyle and level of fitness?  I have learned to eat more of a lower carb, paleo style diet and I never thought I could go a week or even a month without sugar or alcohol. For me eating clean totally carries over into my workout performance. I couldn't hardly run 200m when I first started and after 2 years I did my first 5k and came in first place for my age division!

What is one thing you have done through CFB that you never thought you could do?  a 200# deadlift! Never thought I could do that!

What motivates/inspires you?  All the CFB coaches train me to do proper technique and push me to achieve my goals. Also the community of all the members at CFB.

Name one goal you would like to achieve?  Ring muscle-up!

Any advice for new members or people thinking about starting CrossFit? If I can do it, anyone can! When you first walk in the door it can be intimidating, but just remember that everyone starts at the beginning and if you keep going to push yourself you can achieve any goal you want.
